Petzl ASAP Lock fall arrester rope grab with 40cm ASAPSorber and BM'D carabiner ANSI Z359 OSHA Mobile fall arrester with locking function
PETZL ASAP LOCKThe ASAP LOCK mobile fall arrester is designed to facilitate handling during rope ascents. In normal use, the device moves freely along the rope without any manual intervention and follows the user in all his/her movements. In case of shock or sudden movement, the fall arrester locks on the rope and stops the user. The integrated locking function allows the user to immobilize the device in order to reduce the length of a fall. The connection arm makes the system drop-resistant when passing intermediate anchors. The ASAP LOCK is used with an energy absorber to work at a distance from the rope. It is certified to U.S., European, and Russian standards. Description
Constant fall protection: - arrests falls, slides, and uncontrolled descents - works on vertical or angled rope - locks on the rope even if grabbed during the fall Integrated locking function allows the user to immobilize the device in order to reduce the length of a fall. In case of a strong wind, this function also prevents the rope from being blown upward. Simple to use, and effective: - moves up or down the rope, without any manual manipulation of the device - easy to install and remove at any point on the rope - connection arm makes the system loss-resistant when passing intermediate anchors - it can be used with an energy absorber to work at a distance from the rope: the ASAP'SORBER (European or international version) or ASAP'SORBER AXESS allows uses of up to 250 kg in two-person rescue situations
Specifications
Material(s): aluminum, stainless steel, nylon Weight: 425 g Certification(s): ANSI Z359.15 when used with an ASAP'SORBER (international version) or ASAP'SORBER AXESS energy absorber, an OXAN TRIACT-LOCK (international version) carabiner, CAPTIV positioning bars, and a RAY 12 mm rope with a sewn termination Certification(s): CE EN 12841 type A when used with an ASAP'SORBER (European or international version) or ASAP'SORBER AXESS energy absorber, and an EN 1891 type A 10 to 13 mm rope Certification(s): CE EN 353-2 when used with an ASAP'SORBER (European or international version) energy absorber and an AXIS 11 mm or PARALLEL 10.5 mm rope with a sewn termination Certification(s): EAC when used with an ASAP'SORBER (European version) or ASAP'SORBER AXESS energy absorber, and an EN 1891 type A 10 to 13 mm rope
PETZL ASAP’SORBER 40 CMThe ASAP’SORBER energy absorber connects to the ASAP (international version) or ASAP LOCK mobile fall arrester to allow the user to work at a distance from the rope, in order to protect it during certain work phases. Equipped with tear-webbing inside a pouch that opens on each end, the absorber is protected from abrasion while allowing for regular inspection. It is available in two lengths, to provide the best balance between distance from the rope and reducing fall length. It is certified to U.S. and European standards.
Description
Connects the ASAP (international version) or ASAP LOCK mobile fall arrester to the harness Allows the user to keep the rope at a distance in order to: - declutter the work area - protect the rope from sharp tools and molten metal splash Absorbs energy in case of a fall: - tearing of the energy absorber webbing limits the impact force on the user - designed for users who weigh between 50 and 130 kg - progressive tearing reduces the deceleration on lightweight users - durable fabric pouch with opening system at each end, protects the energy absorber from abrasion or contaminants while allowing for regular inspection of the absorber Can be used with OXAN TRIACT-LOCK (international version) carabiners Comes with two CAPTIV positioning bars that favor loading of carabiners along the major axis and keep them integrated with the lanyard Available in two lengths to provide the best balance between distance from the rope and reducing fall length

Petzl BMD H-frame TRIACT LOCKING carabiner ANSI NFPA CSA 3,600lb GateLightweight asymmetrical high-strength carabiner
The Bm’D lightweight asymmetrical carabiner is made of aluminum. It has a D shape particularly suited for connection to diverse equipment such as descenders or positioning lanyards. Its fluid interior design and Keylock system facilitate handling. The Bm’D carabiner has the TRIACT-LOCK automatic locking system. The sleeve is reinforced for greater front and lateral gate strength. Bm'D may be used with a CAPTIV positioning bar to favor loading of the carabiner along the major axis, to limit the risk of it flipping and to keep it integrated with the device.
Description D shape is particularly suited for connection to equipment such as descenders or positioning lanyards Aluminum carabiner is light, reducing the weight of equipment the worker at height needs to carry Sleeve is reinforced for greater front and lateral gate strength May be used with a CAPTIV positioning bar to favor loading of the carabiner along the major axis, to limit the risk of it flipping and to keep it integrated with the device Easier handling: - fluid interior design limits the risk of having a catch point and facilitates rotation of the carabiner - Keylock system to avoid any involuntary snagging of the carabiner H-shaped cross-section: - ensures an improved strength-to-weight ratio - protects markings from abrasion TRIACT-LOCK automatic locking system with triple-action gate opening Specifications Material(s): aluminum Certification(s): CE EN 362, EAC, ANSI Z359.12, NFPA 1983 Technical Use, CSA Z259.12 Weight 105 g Locking system TRIACT-LOCK Color(s) gray Major axis strength 32 kN Minor axis strength 16 kN Open gate strength 10 kN Gate opening 18 mm Guarantee 3 years
WARNING: ASAPsorber is 17" x 1.5" x 1.5" and fairly stiff
ANSI Z359.15 requires non-integral energy absorbers (i.e. ASAP + Asap'sorber) to meet the Z359.13 Energy Absorber standard. Z359.13 requires energy absorbers to have integral connectors. Also Z359.15 requires integral energy absorbers (i.e. ASAP LOCK + Asap'sorber) to have integral connectors.
The ANSI Z359 standards define "integral" as not removable without destroying it or without the use of a tool. The CAPTIV is Petzl's solution to making the connectors "integral" to the energy absorber. So in order to be ANSI compliant, the CAPTIV must be used in the ASAP fall arrest system.
