Description

You won't find a better prusik than this FlatGrip Technora 900-degree cord with a polyester core. The Technora cover provides unrivaled holding power and is rated at over 19kN MBS, which is nearly twice as much as other prusiks on the market. Thanks to its construction, the cord can easily flatten out, providing more surface area and therefore more gripping power. It also helps sloppily tied or loose triple wrap knots engage better. The cord includes a termination system that allows you to cut and bond the sheath to the core before tying knots. This cord, which measures at 21 feet, should be sufficient to create your own dual set of tandem prusik cords for most instances, however, the correct length for each cord is determined by the size of the pulley. The smaller prusik cord should nest up against the pulley with about a half-inch of space. The longer cord should be about 5 inches from the bottom of the smaller cord.

The best prusik cord. This versatile kernmantle composite rope has a high abrasion resistant Technora cover rated at 900 degrees with a polyester core. This provides better prusik holding power (grip strength) that a normal prusik, plus it will not glaze over, and is rated at over 19kN (4315 lbs) MBS (nearly twice as much as other prusik cords in the market).

The construction of the cord allows it to flatten out providing more surface area, which means more gripping power. (Very similar to hollow blocks that arborist use).

FlatGrip Prusik Cord even helps sloppily tied or loose triple wrap prusik knots engage better.

Our unique termination system (included) allows you to cut and bond the sheath to the core before you tie the knots. (Lighter or torch required - not included).

A rough length estimate for tandem prusik cords are 53 inches (without knots) and 65 inches ( without knots) which equals 118 inches, just shy of 11 feet. The 21 feet being sold in this package should be sufficient to create your own dual set of tandem prusik cords for most variations used. The correct length for each prusik cord is determined by the size of your pulley. Your small length prusik cord should nest up against the pulley with about 1/2" of space. The longer prusik should be about 5 inches from the bottom of the smaller one.
