Description Technical Specs

The Goblin fall-arrester represents a monumental step forward in safety for workers who rely on fall arrest systems for work at heights. To be used on semi-static ropes ranging from 10 to 11 mm. The innovative cam also creates perfectly smooth action on the rope whether it is being used to ascend or descend the line. Performance can be further increased by using the new patented Rope Surfer device. Wear and tear on the rope is reduced to the minimum thanks to the specially designed locking mechanism that lowers the fall arrest force (the force transferred to the body in the event of a fall) by half compared to other devices and locks the rope along a long axis, rather than pinching it aggressively with a toothed cam.
Switching to the ascension mode is accomplished with the simple push of a button on the back of the device.
Hot forged stainless steel locking components combined with a robust aluminum alloy body for exceptional durability over time.
Certified for single use up to 120 kg and for double person rescue scenarios up to 200 kg.
2015 UPDATE: patented Rope Surfer system allows the device to travel downward with greater fluidity, ANSI Z359.1 and EAC certified, EN 353-2 certified with new CAMP Safety ropes
Weight: 281g
Rope Diameter: 10-11mm

5 of 5 self belay April 11, 2017
Reviewer: bob from MN United States
Looked at every device around.  Basically two types, teeth & no teeth.  Read all the reviews and blogs, +'s & -'s.  Nothing really out there on the Goblin except for the CAMP literature.  I odered one.  Came in a couple of days from Omniprogear which was great.  Using the Petzl self-belay article as a guideline, two rope method.  Goblin on one rope and the new Rescucender on the other.  Goblin being the primary.  Works great on an old 9.8 Petzyl rope I am using.  The rope actually measures 10  but whatever.  Rope does need a little weight on it when you start but it runs up and down nicely otherwise.  If I let go, it stops me in less than a foot of rope slide or so.  Rope stretch was more than this.  I don't know about slicker ropes or wet or icy.  (i am primarily an ice climber and i got it too late for this season)  Kind of heavy and seems very well made.  Just like i want.  I am not saying this is perfectly safe but it seems safe enough to me with the backup.  Caveat emptor.
